AMALIA DICK
Amalia Dick of Abbots- ford, B.C. passed away Mar. 21. She was born Dec. 23, 1925 to Peter and Maria Dick in Orloff, Sagradovka, Ukraine . When she was 4, the family was pre - vented from emigrat- ing. When she was 14, her mother died. Her fa- ther remarried. When she was 17, the family began the wagon trek to Germany. When she was 19, the family was repatriated to Siberia. Herfather died the next night. She worked very hard; her job was feed- ing the pigs. She gave her heart and life to Christ and was bap- tized. When her step- mother died, Amalia was sponsored by her sister Mary Warkentin to come to Canada, ar- riving in 1975. She worked in Tabor Home, Abbotsford, for a short time. She bought a house in Yarrow, B.C., where she enjoyed a lit- tle garden. She knitted and quilted for MCC. She had frequent health problems and moved to Tabor Manor, then Ta- bor Home. She is mourned by her sister Mary of Abbotsford and brother Adolf in On- tario. The funeral was Mar. 28 in Clearbrook MB Church, Abbots- ford, with Jay Neufeld and Heinz Ratzlaff min- istering.
