DAVID KOEHN

David Koehn passed away Apr. 8 in Vancouver. He was born Dec. 24, 1913 to David and Helene Koehn in Alexanderfeld, Zagradovka, Ukraine. On Nov. 29, 1936 he married Helene Giesbrecht, a union blessed with three children. His wife and eldest daughter died shortly after World War II. In May, 1948 he travelled from Germany to Canada. His two remaining children had been sent back to Russia during the war. His son was finally released in 1979 and his daughter in 1988. On Mar. 5, 1950 he married Helene Enns in Vancouver, a union blessed with 2 children. Helene died of cancer in July, 1980. He married Margaret Hildebrand Nov. 28, 1981. He found the joy of knowing Jesus on Nov. 9, 1963 and was baptized Dec. 15. He loved the Lord and read his Bible daily for guidance and strength. He is remembered for his sincere and genuine prayers in church and around the family table. He was a good husband, father and grandfather. Predeceased by 2 wives, daughter Liese and all brothers and sisters, he is mourned by his wife Margaret; children Tina Enns and Johann of Germany, Gary of Burnaby, B.C. and Elly Schemer of Abbotsford, B.C.; 15 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. The funeral was Apr. 12 in Culloden MB Church, Vancouver, with Hans Wall and Harry Janzen ministering.
