Mennonitische Rundschau obituary: 1882 Aug 1 p. 2:4

Asien. Endlich wird der am 4. Februar d. J. [dieses Jahres] eingetretene Tod des Aeltesten Abraham Peters, Taschkend, Asien, durch ein Schreiben von dort bestätigt. Der uns von einem l. Freunde zugesandten Abschrift des werthvollen Schreibens entnehmen wir außerdem noch, daß Jakob Janzen an Peters Stelle zum Aeltesten gewählt ist.

English translation:

Asia. The death of Ältester Abraham Peters of Tashkent, Asia, which occurred on February 4 of this year, is finally confirmed by a letter from there. From the copy of the valuable letter sent to us by one of our dear friends, we also learn that Jakob Janzen has been elected as Ältester in Peter's place.
