MRS. SARAH WARKENTIN

(Mrs.) Sarah Warkentin of Yarrow, B.C, passed away on January 31. She was born on January 11, 1891 to Wilhelm and Maria Rempel in southern Russia. At the age of 12 she moved with her parents to Gruenfeld. When she was 20 years old she was accepted into the church after being examined by Rev. Aaron Warkentin and being baptized by Elder Paetkau. She married Gerhard War kentin on October 20, 1912. In July, 1923 they left Russia with their four children and settled near Swift Current, Sask. They farmed there for 16 difficult years, then moved to Steinbach, Man. in 1941 and Yarrow, B.C. in 1944. In 1971 she suffered a heart attack from which she never fully recovered. She was predeceased by her husband in the following year. She leaves to mourn two daughters and two sons, Mary (Mrs. Wilhelm) Klassen, Margaret (Mrs. Arthur) Dyck, George and his wife Tina and Aaron and his wife Anna; 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; and three brothers and seven sisters-in-law.
