JACOB A. VOTH
Jacob A. Voth was born to John T. and Anna (Schmor) Voth on April 27, 1893 in Henderson, Nebraska. Ten years later the family moved to Hepburn, Sask.; here he accepted Christ as his Saviour. After baptism he joined the Hepburn Mennonite Brethren Church where he remained a lifelong member. A joyous date was March 26, 1918, the day on whieh he married Annie Unruh. They were blessed with seven children. The Voths homesteaded south of Hepburn and retired to Hepburn in 1964. Mr. Voth was always a dependable member of the church and community, happy to serve his fellow man in whatever capacity he was able. He was never afraid of personal sacrifices. The spiritual, emotional and physical wellbeing of his family was of utmost importance to him. Shortly after the death of his beloved wife in 1975, failing health led him to move to Saskatoon where he lived with his daughter Elma and family. The Lord took him home on February 26 after seven weeks in the hospital. Mr. Voth was predeceased by a daughter, Mabel, in 1924; a son, Wilfred, in 1942; and a son-in-law, Claus Kliewer, in 1974. Left to mourn are three daughters: Elsie (Mrs. Kit) Wood, Elma (Mrs. John) Peters and (Mrs.) Irene Kliewer; two sons and their wives: Allan and Anne Voth and Dave and Luise Voth; 14 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three sisters; four brothers; and many friends and relatives.
