MAGDALENE KORELSON
(Mrs .) Magdalene Kornelson was born to Anton and Marie Butz in Austria in 1890. In 1904 the family moved to Canada, settling in Southey, Sask. She married Fred Kornelson in 1909. The Lord took her to himself on July 8, just two months after her beloved husband. The Kornelsons homesteaded in Raymore, Sask ., then continued farming at Balgonie and Arbuthnot, Sask., until retiring to Swift Current in 1964. Mrs. Kornelson acknowledged J esus as her Saviour at 19 years. She with her husband experienced spiritual renewal in mid-life and continued to grow in the Lord. Her life evidenced a love and interest in others and her optimism and sense of humour showed her confidence in God and others . A brief illness led to her passing. The family rejoices that God spared her prolonged suffering by taking her to her eternal reward in Christ Jesus. A funeral service was held in the Swift Current Mennonite Brethren Church. Pastor Peter Nikkel spoke from John 14:1-6, and a favorite hymn of Mrs. Kornelson's, "A Mighty Fortress is Our God" , was sung by the congregation. She leaves to mourn her daughters, (Mrs.) Frida Bakes of Regina, Evelyn (Mrs. Wilfred) Reimche of Winnipeg, Dorothy (Mrs. John) Conrad of Ottawa; her sons and their wives, Vernon and Frieda of Arbuthnot and Wilmer and Evangeline of Clearbrook, B.C.; Leona, wife of her late son Gordon; 22 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one brother, George Butz; one sister, (Mrs .) Minnie Lingrneyer; and many relatives and friends.
