DOUGLAS JAMES FROESE

Douglas James Froese was born on July 23, 1954 in Winnipeg to David and Anne Froese. Two years later he moved with his parents to San Jose, California, where, at the age of 12, he accepted Christ as his Saviour, was baptized and joined the Lincoln Glen Mennonite Brethren Church. In 1970 the family moved to British Columbia. Douglas completed high school and attended Douglas College.

In the spring of 1974 cancer was diagnosed, but Douglas seemed to recover after surgery. At this time he rededicated his life and matured in his Christian life. Cancer was again detected the following spring, and Douglas' life became filled with pain, treatments and hospital visits. His cheerfulness and courage were a real example to his family and friends. Psalm 23 and John 14 became very precious to him as he looked forward to his eternal home.

On the morning of March 1, in the presence of his parents and his pastor, Douglas went home to his Lord.

He leaves to mourn his parents, David and Anne Froese; a brother, Richard, and his wife, Sue; a younger sister; his grandparents, many relatives and a host of friends.
