NICKOLAS DUECK

Nikolas J. Dueck, son of Jacob Peter and Katharina Dueck, was born in 1894 in Elizabethtal, Molotschna in southern Russia, where he spent his childhood and received his early education. In 1915 he began a three-year term in the Russian "Forestry service" . On May 11, 1918 he married Helena Huebner and their marriage lasted until the Lord called him home on June 30 of this year. During an evangelistic campaign in 1925 Mr. Dueck experienced forgiveness of his sins and was baptized and received into the Allianz Church in Lichtfelde.

In 1926 the family emigrated to Canada and the Duecks lived for a time in Saskat chewan, Alberta , and Virgil, Ontario. Afte retiring from the farm in 1954 they moved to St. Catharines, Ont. where they joined the Scott Street Mennonite Brethren Church and celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1968.

Mr. Dueck was an intercessor who loved his Saviour, his family, and the children of God.

He is survived by his wife, Helena; four sons, Peter, Jacob, Nick and Abe, and two daughters, Mrs. Cornelius (Tina) Penner and Mrs. Henry (Helen) Schmidt; a brother Henry, a sister, Mrs. Jacob (Justina) Andres, 24 grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren.
