PETER JACOB PETERS

Peter Jacob Peters was born April 2, 1911 in Russia, to Jacob and Anna (nee Braun) Peters. His mother died in 1919. In 1923 his father migrated to Canada with his family, settling in Main Centre, Sask. He often recalled the love and concern shown to them by the people of Main Centre. In 1924 they moved to Beechy, Sask.

He attended the Hepburn Bible Institute for two years, 1928·1929. It was in 1929 that he gave his life to the Lord during evangelistic services held in Beechy by Rev. Frank Wiens. In the same year he was baptized by Rev. John Wiens.

He was united in marriage with Nettie Wiens on October 21, 1933. Four children were born to this union. He farmed at Beechy until 1948; then the family moved to Waldeck, where he joined the Swift Current Mennonite Brethren Church. He was an active and much appreciated member up to the time of his death.

He passed away March 7. He is survived by his wife Nettie of Waldeck; daughter Ruby and family of Senate, Sask.; son Alvin and family of Burnham, Sask.; and son Victor and family of Waldeck; as well as nine grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a baby daughter, his parents, two brothers and one sister. The family will always remember their father's cheerful disposition and his genuine love for them and for his fellowmen, and above all, his faith in God. They also wish to express appreciation to all friends and relatives for the love and sympathy shown to them in their time of bereavement.
