Saskatchewan Farm Family Perishes in Home Fire

FUNERAL SERVICES FOR COUPLE AND TWO SONS HELD AT SWIFT CURRENT

Swift Current, Sask. — Funeral services were held here early this month for Mr. and Mrs. Frank Wieler and sons Edwin, 4, and Ronald, 10 months, who perished when flames destroyed their five-room farm home on Jan. 30. The Weilers were members of the newly formed Evangelical Mennonite church here.

It is believed the family died of asphyxiation before the flames reached them. The charred bodies were removed from the basement of the home.

Mr. Wieler, 34, is survived by his mother, Mrs. Frank Peters of Blumenhof, Sask. and several brothers and sisters, including Jake Peters, a half-brother who attends the Steinbach, Man. Bible Academy.

Mrs. Wieler, 28, leaves her widowed mother, Mrs. Peter P. Hildebrandt of Wymark, Sask., five brothers and five sisters.
