— Word has been received here of the death of Hannah E. Warkentin of route 1, Buhler, who died last Sunday at the Norton hospital after an illness of seven months. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Hoffnungsau church, of which she was a member. She was 49 years of age. Among the close relatives surviving are four brothers, Theodore of Newton; Herman, Shafter, Calif.; Julius and Albert, Buhler; and two sisters, Mrs. John Regier, Burrton, and Mrs. Jake Regier, Buhler.

HANNAH E. WARKENTINE [sic WARKENTIN]
Hanna E. Warkentine {sic Warkentin], daughter of Abraham and Mathilda (Hinz) Warkentine {sic Warkentin], was born near Buhler, Kansas, in Harvey county on July 4, 1897. Here she received her grade school education.
On May 28, 1917, she was baptized upon the confession of her faith by Rev. P. H. Richert and received into the membership of the Hoffnungsau Mennonite church.
She grew up in a family of nine children. At the age of nine she lost he father, and her mother was laid to rest Dec. 12, 1937. On July 30 of last year, her brother Karl passed away at Reedley, Calif., and on July 20, 1946, her sister Emma Siemens, passed away.
Her health had not been good for the past 20 years. On March 30, 1946, she entered the sanatorium at Norton, Kansas. There it was discovered that her left lung was affected with tuberculosis, which later developed into T. B. of the heart.
She passed away at the Norton Sanatorium Sunday morning, Nov. 17, 1946. She reached the age of 49 years, four months, and 13 days.
She leaves to mourn her departure four brothers, Herman of Shafter, Calif., Theodore of Newton, Kans., Julius and Albert, both of Buhler, Kans.; two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Regier of Burrton and Mrs. Kathryn Regier of Buhler; and a host of relatives and friends.
