Pioneer Settler Dies At Marion, S. D.

Freeman, S. D. — Mrs. Anna Tschetter, who came with her parents from Russia to settle on the prairie six miles south of Freeman in 1875, died at her home near Marion on Dec. 12. She was 91.

The former Anna Wipf, she was married to David L. Tschetter on March 1, 1885. In the early years they lived near the James River, and their home was destroyed by a prairie fire in 1889. Later they lived southwest of Bridgewater. She was a member of the Neu Hutterthal church.

Survivors include six children, 12 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Mary Waldner of Langham, Sask.
