Hillsboro Pioneer Died at Age 94

Hillsboro, Kan. — Funeral services were held at the Mennonite Brethren Church April 22 for Mrs. Helena Hagen, one of the early pioneers of this community who died at the Salem Home on April 18. She was 94.

Mrs. Hagen was born in Russia and with her parents, Johann and Anna Scholl, came to the Ebenfeld settlement here in 1880. Her husband, George G. Hagen, died in 1913.

Surviving are five of their 12 children, 41 grandchildren and 72 great-grandchildren.
