PETER H. JANTZEN

Peter H. Jantzen was born in 1886 in Blumenhof, South Russia, to the Franz Jantzens. At the age of 2, he accompanied his parents to America where they lived in Nebraska, Kansas and then Medford, Oklahoma. Here he accepted Christ as Saviour and Lord, was baptized and joined the M.B. Church.

In 1908 Peter married Maria Harms, and they moved to Waldheim, Sask., where they joined the Brotherfield M.B. Church. As a farmer, Peter's early pioneering years were trying. In church he was active in music and teaching positions.

The Jantzen family was blessed with nine children, three boys and six girls, two of which preceded Peter in death. After 34 years of marriage, Mrs. Jantzen was called home in 1942. This rift was mended when Tina Berg became wife and mother of the family 1943.

Upon medical advice, Mr. Jantzen left the farm and moved to Waldheim. Here he remained semi-active by visiting the needy and helping in church affairs.

The Jantzens moved to "Sun Set" home at Dalmeny, Sask., where they enjoyed the hospitality and fellowship. On April 26, 1973, Peter died at the age of 86. Besides the immediate family, he leaves 2 brothers, 5 sisters, and many friends to thank God for a life that left for a blessed destiny.
