FOUR-YEAR-OLD BOY PERISHES WHEN OREGON FARMHOUSE BURNS

McMinnville, Ore. — Fire which destroyed the farm home of the Ivan Nisly family and most of their possessions on Oct. 28 also claimed the life of their four-your [sic] -old son, Bobby.

The fire apprently [sic] originated in a home-made walnut drier in a woodshed near the kitchen. mr.s Nisly was awakened by the smoke and flames about 2;45 a. m. While carrying an 18-month-old daughter and leading Bobby, she fell over a piece of furniture and Bobby darted back into the bedroom to get his new pajamas.

The father ran to the bedroom window outside the house and the youth responded twice to his calls but could not find his way out because of dense smoke. Mr. Nisly then jumped through the window but was unable to get to his son.
