MARY NEUFELD

(Mrs.) Mary Neufeld was born on March 28, 1919 in Rosenbach, Furstenland, in the Ukraine, a daughter of Rev. and Mrs. J. G. Epp. She came to Canada with her parents in 1926, settling first at Waldheim, Sask., and then moving on to Yarrow, B.C. in 1928. She received her early training in Yarrow elementary school, Bible school and high school, and later continued studies in nursing at the Vancouver General Hospital, graduating as an R.N. in 1950. Since that time she had nursed almost without interruption.

She was married to a widower, John Neufeld in 1958 and by the grace of God they were able to share almost 13 years of harmony and happiness. The most important event of her life occurred in 1935 when she received Christ as her Saviour. She was baptized upon her confession of faith in that same year by John A. Harder and was received into the Yarrow Mennonite Brethren Church. In recent years she and her husband were members of the Willingdon (Burnaby) Mennonite Brethren Church. In her homegoing she was predeceased by her parents and one brother who died in infancy. She leaves to mourn, her husband; children Bruce and Sue and their seven children; brothers, George of Yarrow, Isaac of Abbotsford, Jacob of Black Creek, B.C., Peter of Yarrow, and their families; sisters, Mrs. Henry (Tina) Dahl of Yarrow, Mrs . Isaac (Elisabeth) Schmidt of San Jose, California, Mrs. Jacob (Helen) Schellenberg of V'ancouver, and their families, and Miss Sue Epp of Vancouver.
