John Lewis Dudte—Obituary
John Lewis Dudte, son of Michael and Sophia (Hawkey) Dudte was born in Haysville, Ashland county, Ohio on May 11, 1883. On Wednesday evening May 15 he was admitted to the Axtell Christian hospital for a check up and rest. He was feeling fine at 7:00 o'clock Thursday morning but suffered a heart attack shortly afterwards and passed away at 7:30 a. m. May 16, 1946 at the age of 63 years and 5 days.
His parents moved from Ohio to a farm near Walton, where his father passed away when he was a small child. Here he and his older brother farmed with his mother until he was married. On June 30, 1909 in Newton, he was united in marriage to Miss Anna M. Tangeman. In 1912 they moved to the present farm home north of Newton where they have resided, the past 34 years. To this union were born eight children. All were present at the funeral service except Gertrude (Dudte) Jeter, missionary with her husband who is superintendent of the Assemblies of God Foreign Missions in Cuba.
Mr. Dudte had been a faithful members of the local Assembly of God church for a number of years having helped in the erection of the church building, serving as a member of the deacon board and also a teacher of the Men's Bible class.
He leaves
