DORA SCHIERLING

Dora Schierling, 81, of Dallas, Ore., died Dec. 23, 1999, of a heart attack. She was born in Lustre, Mont., and moved to Mountain Lake, Minn., at the age of 2. She moved to Portland, then settled on the family farm in Dallas in 1946.

She was selected as “Queen of the Kitchen,” at the Polk County Fair, was a part of Missionary Circle Work Mothers missionary group. Sunday school material coordinator and Gideon Auxiliary.

She enjoyed gardening, traveling and collecting spoons.

Survivors include her husband, Henry, whom she married in 1941; two daughters, Karen Graber of Dallas and Susan Olson of Seattle; two sons, Jerald and Howard, both of Salem; a brother, Herb Friesen of Mountain Lake; a sister, Leona Sawatsky of North Newton, Kan.; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
