BARNEY H. RATZLAFF

Barney H. Ratzlaff was born in Shelley, Oklahoma, on February 14, 1900, the son of John C. and Minnie (nee Harder) Ratzlaff. In his youth, in August, 1918, he moved with his parents to Saskatchewan.

On January 11, 1933, he was married and together with his wife settled on a farm near Beaver Flat, Sask. In 1941 the family moved to Clearbrook, B,C. The Lord gave him and his wife two sons, one of whom predeceased their father in 1961.

Barney Ratzlaff accepted Christ as his personal Saviour on September 24, 1938, and the following year he was baptized and accepted into the fellowship of the Turnhiill (Sask,) Mennonite Brethren Church. He loved his Saviour and enjoyed the fellowship of believers. The welfare of his family was his main concern and as a father he faithfully trained his sons in the ways of the Lord.

He enjoyed good health until the fall of 1967, and in early 1968 he had to undergo an operation for the first time. He went to be with the Lord on March 20, 1969. He is survived by his beloved wife, Dora; son Myron and daughter-in-law Shirley; grandson Michael; two brothers; and numerous other friends and relatives.
