Hiram S. Locher

Hiram S. Locher, 72, died at his home Saturday morning, Dec. 20. he was born in Riley Township, Putnam Co., the son of Christian and Verena (Luginbihl) Locher. As a young man he taught in the district schools in the Settlement.

He was for a time interested in the mercantile business as a member of the firm of Baumgartner, Locher and Co., Bluffton clothiers. He has been the president of the Citizens National Bank since the organization 29 years ago.

Mr. Locher was a member of the First Mennonite church, Bluffton, Ohio, where he served actively on various board and committees and was a Sunday school teacher for some time.

He is survived by a son, Oliver at Clearwater, Florida; and two daughters, Ruth of Cleveland and Mrs. Dwain Murray of Marrietta [sic Marietta], Ohio. A sister and three brothers also survive. — Correspondent.
