BILLY SUNDAY DIES AT CHICAGO

William “Billy” Sunday, who years ago deserted professional baseball to become an evangelist after his conversion in the Pacific Garden Mission of Chicago, died last Wednesday at his home in Chicago. Messages of consolation to his widow included those of President Roosevelt and Mayor LaGuardia of New York. Funeral services for Mr. Sunday were held at the Moody Memorial church of Chicago on Saturday, conducted by Dr. John Timothy Stone, Rev. Harry A. Ironside, pastor of the church, and Home Rodeheaver, his song leader in many of his evangelistic campaigns.
