WILLIAM P. WIEBE
William W. P. Wiebe of Alsen, N. D., was born in Gnadenfeld, South Russia, on May 28, 1874. In 1875 he came to the United States and grew to manhood at the home five miles south of Mountain Lake, Minnesota, and received a common school education.
At the age of 18, he took a homestead at Dalmeny, Sask. On his confession of faith he was baptized in the Mennonite Brethren church of Ulen, Minnesota. On Dec. 16, 1897, he was united in marriage to Miss Mary Loewen by the Rev. Henry Voth of Mountain Lake, Minn. This union was blessed with three children, one son and two daughters. His wife preceeded [sic] him in death in November, 1926, after 29 years of wedded life.
Shortly thereafter, he moved to Dallas, Oregon, his occupation there being the repairing of tools and lawn mowers.
On June 11, 1935, he came to Alsen, N. Dak., and on June 29, 1935, was married to Mrs. Frank Loewen. With her he enjoyed eight years of married life.
After several weeks of illness, he went to be with the Lord on May 12, at 4:15 P.M. at the age of 68 years, 11 months and 14 days.
He leaves to mourn his departure, His wife Gertrude, one son, Abraham, and three daughters, Mrs. George Harvey and Mrs. Johnston, one brother, Peter, and three half brothers, Klaas, Isaac and George.
He will be missed by his family and friends.
