text of obituary:

Amstutz Ô On July 1, at his home on Sonnenberg, Wayne county, O., Abraham Amstutz, aged 74 years, 6 months and 22 days, after a severe illness of about six weeks and two operations for urinary trouble. Bro. Amstutz was born in the mountains of the Bernese Jura, Switzerland, near Souboz, where he grew to young manhood. At the age of 21 years he came to America with his parents and family. He united with the Mennonite church in the Kleinthal, David Nussbaum pastor, at the age of 16, and on coming to this country untied with the Sonnenberg Mennonite church here. Upon the organization of the Salem Mennonite church here he identified himself with the new congregation, which he loyally supported to the end of his life. In 1874 he was married to Elizabeth Tschantz, who preceded him to the heavenly home eight years ago. To this union were born 10 children, seven of whom survive him, with 21 grandchildren. These, with four brothers and one sister mourn his departure. Brother Amstutz was a patient sufferer, as he was a consistent Christian character. Funeral services were conducted on July 3rd by his pastor, Rev. Austin Keiser, assisted by Rev. Adam Sommer, at the Salem church.
