MRS. EUGENIA MILLER

Mrs. Eugenia Miller, daughter of John and Elizabeth Miller, was born in Austria on July 30, 1875, and departed this life on March 27, 1960, in Trinity hospital at Dodge City, Kan. at the age of 84 years and eight months.

At the age of six years she came with her family to America. They settled at Mankato, Minn. but later came to Hanston, Kan., where she spent most of her life. She attended grammar schools in Minnesota and at Hanston.

She was baptized as a young girl and became a member of the Hanston Mennonite church where she remained a faithful member until her death. She attended services regularly until her health failed. She was an active member of the Mission Circle for many years.

On October 21, 1894, she was united in marriage to Jacob A. Miller. To this union three sons and five daughters were born. Her husband, Jacob, and three daughters, Esther, Tillie, and Lydia Ann, preceded her in death. Those who are left to mourn her death are Mrs. Emma Lingenfelder, Edwin, Marvin and Arthur of Hanston and Mrs. Elsie Hirschler of Dodge City. There are also five grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Susie Bamberger, and one brother Gustav Miller from Hanston, in addition to many relatives and friends.

Mrs. Miller was a faithful wife and a loving mother and grandmother. The welfare of her family was uppermost with her and she will be greatly missed in her immediate family. Her home was a place where friends met and where relatives spent many happy hour together. Physically she has left us but the memory of her will linger on with us through the coming years.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 29, at 2 p.m. in the Hanston Mennonite church with her pastor, W. Harley King, in charge.
