• Funeral services for Kurt Penner, 81, retired farmer of rural Whitewater, were held Saturday afternoon at the Emmaus Mennonite Church with Rev. L. R. Amstutz in charge. Mr. Penner died at Bethel Deaconess Hospital on March 4, the day after being admitted there. Earlier, he had been released from a Wichita hospital after suffering injuries in a highway accident on Feb. 8 which claimed the life of Mrs. Penner. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Charlotte Wilson of Baltimore, Md. and Mrs. Hilda Ray of Winfield, and two sons, Rudolph H. of rural Peabody and Paul of Hesston.
