NATIVE OF OHIO CALLED BY DEATH AT REEDLEY, CALIF.

Reedley, Calif. — Funeral services for Menno J. Welty, well known retired carpenter here, were held in the First Mennonite church Sept. 2, Rev. Aaron Epp in charge. He passed away at Reedley hospital Aug. 31 after a long illness.

A resident here for the past 42 years, he was born near Pandora, Ohio Sept. 12, 1870. He came west as a young man, living first in Washington and Oregon. He was an active member of the First church here, having taught a young men's class for a number of years.

He leaves his wife, the former Addie Schragg; three sons, Rev. Delbert Welty of Tribune, Kans., Lawrence at home, and Leonard of Huntington, W. Va.; and a brother and sister of Ohio.
