MRS. D. D. KING

Katie B. King was born May 2, 1869, near Bluffton, Ohio, one of 10 children of John U. and Elizabeth Badertscher.

As a young woman she accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as Saviour, was baptized upon her confession of faith and received into the fellowship of the Swiss Mennonite church near Bluffton, Ohio.

In 1898 she was united in marriage with the late Rev. David D. King, with whom she shared life for nearly 30 years. In 1928 her companion was suddenly taken from her side while he was serving the Menno church at Lind, Washington. Thereupon she made her home to Los Angeles, where she had since resided.

She passed away March 8, 1948, after a period of failing health, at the age of 78 years 10 months and 6 days.

She leaves to mourn her passing the four children, Rev. W. Harley King, Paso Robles, Calif., Leona, Mrs. Verdi Bixel, Los Angeles, Violetta, Mrs. Paul Schroeder of Lancaster, Calif., Herbert R. King of Los Angeles; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild; four sisters, Mrs. C. W. Basinger of California, Missouri, the Misses Barbara and Lydia Badertscher of Denver, Colorado, and Mrs. L.
