ABRAHAM A. FRIESEN
Abraham A. Friesen was born April 14, 1915, to Frank K. and Anna Thieszen Friesen at Henderson, Neb., and died at his home June 27, 1987, at the age of 72.
He received his elementary education in school districts 31 and 62. On June 10, 1935, he was baptized by A. W. Friesen upon confession of faith and received into the membership of Bethesda Mennonite church, where he remained a faithful member until his death.
On Feb. 19, 1939, he was married to Matilda Unrau.
He was a farmer as long as his health permitted. Upon retirement in 1972, he and his wife moved to Henderson. He developed an interest in woodworking and made toys and small furniture items. many of these were given away or donated to MCC auctions. in addition, he had a gret concern for education and the spiritual welfare of his children and grandchildren. He followed with considerable interest the activities of the local congregation, denominational schools. missions and service developments.
Those who remain to cherish his memory are his wife, Matilda; one daughter, Marlyce Miller of Freeman, S. D.; two sons, Lauren and wife Janet of Goshen, Ind., and Melvin and wife Grace of Carlock, Ill., eight grandchildren; four brothers, David A. Friesen, Walter A. Friesen, Herman A. Friesen and John A. Friesen; and a sister Marie Epp.
He was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Max Miller, a sister, Esther Kroeker, and a brother, Herbert A. Friesen.
