Peter Loewen

The esteem in which Peter Loewen was held was testified to on Sunday afternoon when the large Alexanderwohl church near Goessel was filled to overflowing with friends from Hllsboro, Peabody, Marion, Newton and other places.

The officers and directors of the Mennonite Mutual Insurance company of Newton attended the services in a body. The Rev. P. H. Unruh of Goessel and the Rev. H. A. Fast of the Bethel college conducted the services. The pall bearers were his nephews, sons of his only brother, J. W. Loewen of Hillsboro and two other sons of the latter sang in the choir. Many beautiful floral pieces were banked about the casket and later placed upon the grave in Greenwood cemetery to which a large procession wended its way following the services.

Out of town relatives present were: Mrs. John Hiebert of Hitchcock, Okla., Mr. and Mrs. John W. Loewen of Watonga, Okla., and Mr. and Mrs. Peter Funk of Aberdeen, Idaho.
