HERBERT LINSCHEID

Herbert Linscheid, son of Jacob J. and Susanna Hubin Linscheid, was born at Butterfield, Minn. on Jan. 23, 1893. He received his education at the Butterfield Public School.

On July 30, 1911 he was baptized and received into membership of the Mennonite Church of Butterfield by Rev. H. H. Regier

He married Sadie Rupp on March 28, 1921. After their marriage Mr. Linscheid was employed by Standard Oil in Butterfield for 15 years. The remainder of his working years he was employed by Butterfield Oil Company, retiring in 1959.

Herbert had been in failing health for the last 15 years, and was hospitalized several times during his illness. He was admitted to the Mountain Lake Community Hospital on April 3 and was confined there until his death on April 20. He attained the age of 81.

He is survived by his wife; three sons, Raymond of Hesston, Kan., Willis and Delmar, both of Butterfield; four grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Kramer of South St. Paul, Mrs. Marie Stark of Great Falls, Mont., Mrs. Bertha Linscheid and Mrs. Alma Ewy, both of Butterfield; two brothers, Robert of Butterfield and Dr. Ernest Linscheid of Jamestown, N. D.

He was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.

Funeral services were held April 24 at the Butterfield Mennonite Church with Rev. Melvin Norquist and Rev. John J. Esau officiating.
