MRS. EMMA A. LEHMAN

Emma A. Lehman, daughter of Joseph and Katherine Oesch, was born Jan. 7, 1879, at Wheatland, Mo.

She united with the Sycamore Mennonite church near Garden City at an early age.

On Oct. 21, 1900, she was united in marriage which Solomon E. Lehman of Versailles, Mo., where they lived until 1919 when they moved to a farm near Garden City. In 1942 she moved to East Lyme, Mo.

She is survived by three sons and four daughters: Lawrence of Garden City, Earl of Olathe, Kan., Mabel (Mrs. Milton Henry) of Pleasant Hill, Sarah (Mrs. Vernon Roach) of Holden, Anna and Mary of Garden City, and Dan of the home.

She is also survived by seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; one sister Mrs. Ida Smith of Garden City; two brothers, W. J. Oesch of East Lyme, and Simon Oesch of Kansas City, Kan.; two half-sisters, Mrs. B. J. Yoder of Harrisonville, Mrs. A. D. Hartzler of East Lyme; and a large number of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Dec. 28, 1941, three sons and two daughters; two sisters, Sarah Kauffman and Mrs. Katie Lehman; one half-sister, Ella Yoder, and one half-brother, Dan Oesch.

Mrs. Lehman was a quiet, unassuming person and was a friend to all who knew her.

After a serious illness of four weeks due to a heart condition, she passed away quietly at St. Luke's hospital in Kansas City Wednesday, Nov. 20 at the age of 78 years, 10 months, 13 days.

Funeral services were held at the Sycamore Grove church at 2:00 o'clock Saturday, Nov. 23. Rev. S. S. Hershberger and Rev. James Yoder officiated. Music was by the Mennonite quartet.

Burial was made in Clearfork cemetery.
