text of obituary:
MRS. MARGARET MILLER
Margaret (Kauffman) Miller, daughter of Shem and Elizabeth (Hooley) Kauffman, was born Nov. 8, 1888, near Belleville, Penn. and departed this life after a short illness on Feb 16, 1956, at the Community Hospital in Nevada, mo., age 68 years, three months, and eight days.
Early in life she recognized the need of a Saviour. She accepted Jesus and united in fellowship with the Mennonite Church. She was always interested and concerned in the Spiritual well being of those in her charge and acquaintance. She was quick to expose the nobler merits of those in her acquaintance, yet always ready to testify against evil.
She was united in marriage to Roy Miller on Dec. 1, 1917.
To this union were born three daughters and two sons: Verna, Mrs. Ralph Detweiler, of Leonard, Mo., Waldo E. of Harper, Kan., Wilmer D. of Walker, Mo., Elizabeth, Mrs. Harlan Hershberger of Milford, Neb., and Pauline, Mrs. Wallace Swartzendruber of Wellman, Iowa.
Her parents, a stepfather, two sisters and an older brother preceded her in death.
She leaves to mourn her passing the immediate family; one sister Keturah, Mrs. Fred Dreier of Hesston, Kan.; three brothers, Chris Kauffman of Hesston, J. Chauncy Kauffman of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, Levi Kauffman of Detroit, Mich.; two stepsisters, Ida, Mrs. S. D. Miller of Conway, Kan., Mrs. Anna Johnson of Lyons, Kan.; five stepbrothers, Roy A. Zook of Kansas City, Kan., Aaron Zook of Pueblo, Colo., Paul Zook of North Hollywood, Calif., John Zook of Tofield, Alta., Canada, and Menno Zook of Redlands, Calif.; 24 grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
Funeral services at the West Liberty Mennonite Church near Windom, Kansas on Feb. 19 were in charge of M. M. Troyer, Conway, and Irvin Nussbaum of Walker, Mo. The committal service was conducted by Sanford E. King of Hutchinson.
