• Miss Martha Ida Peters, 74, of Newton died Sept. 26 at Bethel Deaconess Hospital after a short illness. She was a member of the First Mennonite Church, where the funeral was conducted Friday afternoon by Rev. Andrew R. Shelly. Miss Peters was born here and was a lifetime resident of Newton and Harvey County. She was a nurse aide. Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Herman Janzen of Newton and Mrs. Anna Schroeder of Wamego, and three brothers, John E. Peters of Newton, Herman J. and Arthur J. Peters of Walton.
