ORVILLE BYRON WARYE

Orville Byron Warye, son of Jonathan and Sarah (Yoder) Warye, was born near Emporia, Kan. on Jan. 30 1887; died at Hubbard, Ore.gon on Nov. 29, 1965, aged 78 years, nine months, 29 days.

On Nov. 26, 1925 he was united in marriage to Clara Greider who survives. One brother, John Elton of Columbus, Ohio, and one sister Mary (Mrs. W. W. Miller) of Bluffton, Ohio survive. Also surviving are three children, Byron R. of Portland, Norma Jean (Mrs. Jacob Leichty) of Albany, and Duane E. of Mollala.

When he was two years old his family moved to West Liberty, Ohio where at the age of 15 he gave his life to Christ and became a member of the Oak Grove Mennonite Church.

In 1947 he moved his family to Hubbard, Oregon where he joined the Zion Mennonite Church and remained in full fellowship until his death.

He was a loving husband and father, always concerned with the welfare of his family and the church. His last audible words as he prayed were “Dear Lord.”

Services were held at the Zion Mennonite church on Dec. 2 conducted by John M. Lederach and John Garber. Interment was made in the Zion cemetery.
