AGED BISHOP OF AMISH CHURCH CALLED AWAY IN DEATH

Goshen, Ind. — Samuel D. Hochstetler, 81, bishop of the Amish church, died Feb. 17 at the farm home on Ruote [sic Route] 1 where he was born and spent all but 21 years of his life. Funeral services were held at the home on Feb. 20, and were widely attended.

He is survived by seven children, three foster children, 36 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and three brothers, Joseph of Kokomo, Daniel of Canby, Oregon, and Amos of Nappanee.
