Aged Indiana Man Fatally Injured in Truck Collision

Shipshewana, Ind. — The collision of two trucks on Ind-5 a short distance south of here the morning of Sept. 27 claimed the life of Edward Rheinheimer, 81, a resident of this area most of his life.

Mr. Rheinheimer was transferred to Parkview Memorial Hospital in Fort Wayne where he died at 6:30 that evening. Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon at the Forks Mennonite Church, of which he was a member. Rev. Sylvester Haarer officiated.

Mr. Rheinheimer, a farmer, plumber and carpenter, was driving a panel truck when he attempted a left turn and was hit by an oncoming pickup truck driven by Oscar S. Yoder of rural Topeka. Yoder was hospitalized with injuries.

Surviving Mr. Rheinheimer are his widow, the former Laura Reinhardt, four daughters and four sons and their families.
