• Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Kaufman Funeral Home in Halstead for Pete U. Groening, 70, retired realtor of Wichita and former resident of Newton. He died April 4 in Wichita. He leaves his widow, Emma; his mother, Mrs. Maria Groening of Hillsboro; one daughter; six brothers and seven sisters.
