• Funeral services for Mrs. Anna D. Smith, 89, were held March 14 at the Hesston Mennonite Church, with Rev. Peter Wiebe officiating. Mrs. Smith died March 12 at Schowalter Villa, where she had been a resident since 1961. A native of Markham, Ontario, she came to Hesston in 1914 and a short time later went to Kansas City where she served at the Mennonite Mission. She was married there to William M. Smith, who died in 1942. Surviving are four step-daughters and their families as well as two brothers, Thomas Diller of Pickering, Ont. and J. R. Diller of Hesston. Burial was made in the Highland Park Cemetery, Kansas City, Kan.
