text of obituary:

— Gustav B. Gaeddert, 84, died July 2 at Friendly Acres in Newton, where he had resided the past three years. Before that he had lived on West Fifth Street, but spent most of his life farming in the Buhler community. He married Anna Ratzlaff in 1914, and she died in 1941. Survivors include two sons, Menno of Denver, Colo. and Roland of Sylman [sic Sylmar], Calif. Mr. Gaeddert was a member of the Hoffnungsau Mennonite Church, where the funeral was conducted Tuesday forenoon with Rev. Dick Rempel in charge.
