John H. Toews, 69, formerly of Moundridge and a resident of Halstead for about eight years, died Oct. 27 at the Halstead Hospital where he had been employed in maintenance service. The funeral was conducted Saturday afternoon at the West Zion Mennonite Church in Moundridge, of which he was a member. Rev. Harold Thieszen, the pastor, officiated. Mr. Toews leaves his widow, the former Martha Krehbiel; two sons, John G. of Moundridge and George W. of Canton; three daughters, Hattie Smith of Wichita, Sharon Kemph of Arkansas City, and Bonnie Claassen of Abilene; two brothers, Frank of Penalosa, Kan. and Henry H. of Newton; two sisters, Mrs. Menno Thiessen of Big Bear City, Calif. and Mrs. Jake Harder of Big Bear Lake, Calif.; and 10 grandchildren.
