JACOB WIDMER

Jacob Widmer son of Peter and Kathryn Widmer, was born April 20, 1875, in Alsace, France. He passed away on Saturday noon, July 11, 1953, in the Mt. Pleasant, Iowa Hospital, after an illness of one year, at the age of 78 years, two months, and 21 days.

At the age of six years he came to the United States with his parents. After a short stay in Ohio, he came to the Wayland community where he lived until his death. He accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Saviour during the early years of his youth and was baptized and became a member of the Eicher Emmanuel Mennonite church.

He leaves to mourn his departure many relatives and friends, including three brothers and three sisters: Josephine (Mrs. J. T. Wenger,) Peter, John, Sarah (Wenger,) Daniel and Mary (Mrs. J. J. Rich.)

Preceding him in death were his parents, two sisters and two brothers, Kathryn (Wenger,) Anna (Graber,) Edward and Chris, who died in infancy.
