• Death claimed another of the pioneer immigrants from South Russia with the passing here of Mrs. Maria Dick, 91, on Monday morning at Bethel Deaconess Hospital. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the First Mennonite Church, of which she was a member, with Rev. Arnold Epp and Rev. J. E. Entz officiating. Mrs. Dick was born in the Ukraine in 1873 and came to this country with her parents at the age of two, moving to Newton from Henderson, Neb. in 1914. Her husband, Cornelius C. Dick, did in 1934. Survivors include four daughters; one son, Wm. O. Dick, with whom she resided on East First Street; 16 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
