REEDLEY, CALIFORNIA, MAN KILLED
ALMOST INSTANTLY WHEN STRUCK BY CAR
The Reedley, Calif., Exponent of Nov. 6 gives the following report of the recent accident there which resulted in the death of Henry Beier, who was killed instantly:
Henry Beier was instantly killed early Monday evening as he was guarding a truck and trailer on Reed Avenue near the Fred Davis home. The lights of the vehicle, which was half on the highway, blinded the driver of an oncoming car so he did not see the man until he struck him. The death car was driven by Feliz Icho of Woodlake.
The Cairns ambulance was called but Beier was pronounced dead on its arrival. His body was taken to the Cairns Funeral Home in Reedley. The accident was investigated by Constable Fred Goodner and Icho was not held, the accident being regarded as unavoidable.
Henry Beier was born in Russia on July 27, 1902. He had lived in Reedley for eleven years. He was a brother of Mrs. Henry Hiebert and there is a brother in Canada.
The funeral service was held this morning at 10 a.m. from the Mennonite Brethren church, Rev. D. C. Eitzen officiating. Interment was in Reedley cemetery.
