Girl Killed, Parents Badly Injured in Crash on Interstate

Harrisonburg, Va. — Relatives here received word of a one-car accident on I-81 near Maugansville, Md. which claimed the life of a 13-year-old girl and seriously injured her parents.

Funeral services for Kathleen Bauman, daughter of Mahlon and Betty Bauman of Poolsville, Md., were held April 24 at the Dawsonville Mennonite Church, of which she was a member.

Mr. Bauman suffered a broken back and is paralyzed from the waist down. His wife underwent surgery for removal of her spleen and one kidney. Two other children in the car, Marvin, 17, and Sandra, 12, were treated at the Hagerstown hospital and released.
