MARIA KRAMER

Mrs.) Maria Kramer of Winnipeg died June 19. She was born October 20, 1911 in Schoensee, in the Ukraine, to Gerhard and Elisabeth Born. During a difficult youth she accepted the Lord as her personal Saviour. She married Karl Kramer in 1936 after meeting him in Germany where she had gone with her aunt and brother. In 1937 they were sent by the Canadian Mennonite Brethren African mission board to the Belgian Congo (now Zaire), returning to Germany in 1948 to a Baptist church which they pastored for five years. The family emigrated to Canada in 1953, living in Winnipeg where they attended the Elmwood Mennonite Brethren Church. Mrs. Kramer was predeceased by one son and is survived by husband Karl, three daughters: Annemarie, Rosemarie and husband Edward Charles, Ruth and husband John Harms; three sons: John and wife Ana-Marie, Harry and Gerhard; two sisters and two brothers.
