JOHANN W. PETERS

Johann W. Peters of Clearbrook, B.C. passed away June 10. He was born March 14, 1897 to Wilhelm and Anna (Baerg) Peters in Altenau, Sagradowka, in southern Russia. In his youth he accepted Christ as his Saviour and was baptized. In 1918 he married Marga- retha Isaac. They emigrated to Canada in 1926, settling near Neville, Sask . where they farmed . In 1944 the family moved to Abbotsford, B.C. and joined the South Ab- botsford Mennonite Brethren Church. After retirement in 1962 he and his wife moved to Clearbrook. In June, 1978 they celebrated their diamond wedding anniversary. Predeceased by two children in infancy, he is survived by wife Margaretha; sons and spouses: William and Susie of Abbotsford, Cornelius and Tina of Penticton, John and Lydia of Kelowna, Ben and Harriet of Kamloops, George and Leona of Chilli- wack, all of B.C .; daughters and spouses: Anne and Peter Friesen of Surrey, Mary and George Carter and Hele
