HELEN WIEBE

Helen Wiebe died Aug. 22. She was born Nov. 10, 1913 in Alexanderfeld, Ukraine to Aron and Maria Janzen. Despite Communism, she grew up in a loving home. After marrying John Wiebe in 1942, they lived in village No. 1, Zagradovka, until fleeing to Germany with the German Army in 1943. In 1948 the family moved to Coaldale, Alta., and later to farm in Chilliwack, B.C, where she was a generous host and a loving mother who accepted everyone unconditionally. She worked part-time as a janitor, and after retirement moved to Clearbrook, B.C She is mourned by children Mary (Len) Dyck, Ann (Stewart) McIvor, Linda (Bev) Turner, and Ruth (Ron) Peters; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren. The memorial service was Aug. 27 at Clearbrook MB Church, Abbotsford, B.C.
