HILDA LOEWEN


Hilda Loewen died Apr. 27. She was born Aug. 28, 1919 near Mennon, Sask. to Peter and Margaretha Quiring. She married Peter Loewen June 3, 1945 in Dalmeny, Sask. They farmed north of Dalmeny, moving to town in 1978. She worked at the craft department in Dalmeny Nursing Home. She enjoyed family holiday meals and making specialties for her family. Eating out and watching Jeopardy were favourite activities. After retirement they went on numerous bus tours. She was known for her sewing, quilting, knitting and crocheting. She quilted blankets for MCC, taught Awana and Sunday school, and always had a large garden. Predeceased by 1 sister and 2 brothers, she is mourned by Peter; daughters Norma Doell, Ruth Pilot, Carolyn Bray; son Vic; 8 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; 1 sister; 2 brothers.
