DAVID E. WARKENTIN

David Warkentin died in January. He was born Oct. 17, 1930 in Hepburn, Sask. to William and Susie Warkentin. Church was at the centre of family life, and he invited Christ into his life at 10, after an evangelistic meeting and talking with his mother. The family moved to Virgil, Ont. in 1940. He married Eunice Gossen in 1950. In 1953, he began medical school in Toronto, leading a disciplined student life that included a morning milk route, school and time with the children. He loved medicine, opening a medical practice at Agincourt Clinic in 1960. The accidental death of his son produced a lifelong tender spot within David. He enjoyed wood, building 3 of his own houses, and also loved to sing, both informally and in groups. He was committed to the church and missions, serving on the board of AEF and at Pioneer Camp as camp doctor. He was generous, a problem solver, and devoted to his family. Predeceased by son Bruce, he is mourned by Eunice; daughter Sandra White; sons David, Brent, and Brian; 7 grandchildren; 6 siblings. The funeral was Jan. 17 at Faith Baptist Church, Huntsville, with Darrell Baker ministering.
