AGNETE REMPEL

Agnete Rempel died Dec. 6. She was born Aug. 21, 1915 in Schoenau, Ukraine, to Isaak and Aganetha Quiring. She married Arnold Rempel Dec. 3, 1933. In Oct. 1943 they fled to Kreis Birnbaum, Warthegau, then to Kreis Rochlitz, Sachsen, where they lived until Nov. 1945, and finally to Berlin. Here she accepted the Lord as her Saviour and was baptized Apr. 26, 1946. In Jan. 1947 they immigrated to Volendam, Paragauy. She was responsible for the family and the farm while Arnold worked away from home. She was often ill. The family immigrated to Vancouver in Aug. 1965. Here she did day work and after retirement spent time with her children and grandchildren. Arnold died Oct. 19, 1994. Her health slowly deteriorated. Predeceased by Arnold, she is mourned by daughters Frieda Reimer, Abbotsford, Lina Mensch, Germany, Anneloore, Vancouver; sons Helmut, Paraguay, Peter, Richmond, B.C. The funeral was Dec. 11 in Culloden MB Church, Vancouver.
